DPDx is developed and maintained by the CDC’s Division of Parasitic Diseases and Malaria (DPDM).

Microphotographic images of parasites were taken at the Oregon State Public Health Laboratory.
The OSPHL Parasitology Department is equipped with a QImaging MicroPublisher 3.3 RTV high resolution Digital Camera mounted on a Leica DMLS microscope. This equipment is used in conjunction with the Division of Parasitic Diseases (DPDx) at the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) to aid in the rapid diagnosis of unusual or difficult parasitic diseases using digital images and the Internet.

The Health Education Assets Library (HEAL) is a collection of over 22,000 freely available digital materials for health sciences education. The collection is now housed at the University of Utah J. Willard Marriott Digital Library.

This Image Library is a repository for images and movies of cells from a variety of organisms. It demonstrates cellular architecture and functions with high quality images, videos, and animations. This comprehensive and easily accessible Library is designed as a public resource first and foremost for research, and secondarily as a tool for education. The long-term goal is the construction of a library of images that will serve as primary data for research.

A disability-led effort to provide free & inclusive stock images from [their] own perspective, with photos and illustrations celebrating disabled Black, Indigenous, people of color (BIPOC).

A centralized repository of high-resolution, interactive "virtual microscopy" images available for enhancing education, research and scholarship. This database allows educators and researchers without access to high quality histological glass slides or scanning and digitization equipment, or those in need of more examples of different tissues and organs, to obtain such images for use in their educational and research use.
