10 Things You Should Know About USF Health Libraries
Hinks & Elaine Shimberg Health Sciences Library (Shimberg) | Florida Blue Health Knowledge Exchange (FBHKE)

1. Your USF ID is Your Library Card

You need your USF ID to check out books and laptops.  The 14-digit number on the ID is your library account number (205XXXXXXXXXXX).

2. Shimberg Library and Florida Blue Health Knowledge Exchange Hours and Contact Information

3. Off Campus Access

You may access online library resources from anywhere by logging in with your USF NetID.

4. Borrow from Other Libraries

If you need a book or article not owned by the USF Libraries, use interlibrary loan (ILLiad) or UBorrow.

5. Library Liaisons

We have liaison librarians assigned to the Colleges and programs at USF Health. Use Ask a Librarian for assistance with your instruction, research, and information needs.

6. Library Instruction

Our instruction sessions focus on what skills are needed to develop to complete research assignments and projects.  We provide in-class and online instruction sessions.

7. Research Services

We offer many research support services, e.g., create a SciENcv, develop search strategies, and manage literature reviews, individually or in groups.

8. LibGuides

Librarian-created guides are available to help you navigate your way through targeted information resources. Contact your library liaison for more details or browse our guides at the link below.

9. Current Awareness

Learn how to set up current updates on the literature from the research databases and other sources. Go to Ask a Librarian for a consult.

10. Grants Funding

Keep up with the latest in grant possibilities. Set up an appointment to learn about funding sources, how best to search for grants, and set up e-alerts.
