USF Health Libraries’ First Library Ambassador
Leader of Our Dog Therapy Program
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of JaVic Catch the Golden Snitch, our beloved therapy dog and cherished member of the USF Health Libraries family.
For 16 years, Snitch brought comfort, joy, and calm to our students, faculty, and staff—one paw at a time. As the first dog to provide pet therapy in the USF Health Libraries, she paved the way for a program that continues to support the well-being of our community. Her gentle presence and loving spirit made her a true ambassador of kindness and healing.
A plaque honoring Snitch hangs in the Shimberg Health Sciences Library, engraved with these words:
A Loving Golden Retriever,
Who Sits in Our Hearts and on Our Laps
Bringing Comfort, Joy, and Calm to Our Students,
One Paw at a Time — Our Beloved Snitch.
Though she has retired from her earthly duties, Snitch’s legacy lives on in every moment of peace she gave and every smile she inspired. She will always be part of our story.
Thank you, Snitch, for everything.
