What is Covidence?

USF Health Libraries currently provides access to Covidence for members of USF Health, a systematic review management software. Covidence is a web-based tool for managing the systematic review process that will help you through the process of screening your references, data extraction, and keeping track of you work. It is particularly useful for researchers conducting a systematic review, meta-analysis or clinical guideline.

How to Access It

PREREQUISTE: At least one user must be a member of USF Health to request and use Covidence through the health library subscription
Create a protocol for your review
Set up a systematic review consult with a USF Health librarian
Upload your protocol to the appointment request
A USF Health librarian will create your review in Covidence

What can Covidence do?

Import references
Covidence works seamlessly with your favorite reference managers like EndNote, Zotero, Refworks, Mendeley or any tool that support RIS, CSV or PubMed XML formats. Covidence can automatically remove duplicates for you.
Title/abstract screen
Use keyword highlighting to facilitate screening articles. Covidence keeps full records of who voted and supports single or dual screeners.
Bulk import PDFs
Transfer PDFs stored in EndNote or other reference manager to Covidence in a few clicks.
Screen full-text
Reviewers can read and vote on article full-text easily. Capture reasons for exclusion and any notes so you can resolve any disagreements quickly, with a click of a button.
Create data extraction forms that fit your project
Customize the created data extraction form to fit your question exactly.
Conduct data extraction
Extract data efficiently with a side-by-side view of your customized form and PDF. Then, when you are done, easily compare your form with other reviewers.
Customize risk of bias
Automatically populate your risk of bias tables by highlighting and commenting on text directly in your PDF.
Export your work
Covidence exports to all the common formats so you can continue your review in your preferred software.
Create your PRISMA diagram automatically
Access your review’s PRISMA flowchart and export to MS Word or pdf at any time.
Invite team members to your review
Covidence allows unlimited co-reviewers to be added to each review at any stage in the process. You can even customize roles for reviewers in the settings.
