The Writing Studio offers in-person appointments at the Tampa library location (LIB 233) and online appointments through Microsoft Teams. Consultations are interactive and collaborative, so students should come prepared to work actively on their writing.

Students can submit up to 5 double-spaced pages of their work at a time and receive feedback from a writing tutor within 10 business days. This asynchronous tutoring service is geared toward semester or year long projects, as well as polishing final drafts, but is available at any stage of the writing process. Tutors will not do any direct writing, although they will leave comments to address things like organization, sentence structure, and clarity.

The Multilingual Writing Center offers one-on-one writing consultations to international and/or multilingual USF graduate students from any field who may encounter unique challenges in the academic writing process.

This free online course (about 30 hours) teaches scientists to become more effective writers, using practical examples and exercises. Topics include: principles of good writing, tricks for writing faster and with less anxiety, the format of a scientific manuscript, peer review, grant writing, ethical issues in scientific publication, and writing for general audiences. This course and Coursera are not affiliated with the University of South Florida.

The style and grammar guidelines pages present information about APA Style as described in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, Seventh Edition and the Concise Guide to APA Style, Seventh Edition.

EndNote 21 is available in both Windows and MacOS for free to members of USF. You will need to log in using your NetID and password.
